Not hard to get in. Huge acceptance rate. Do well enough on the ACT and it's an easy admission. They are not selective because the philosophy is that anyone should have access to a great education, and it is totally possible to get a better education there than anywhere else in the world.

To get into the university I simply applied and did the essays. I already had a pretty decent ACT and good grades. I also had a lot of extracurricular activities and community service. I think that helped a lot with getting in. I would recommend that if you feel you might have a chance of getting rejected that you apply early. Most students who apply very early into their senior year (within the first month) get accepted. It helps to have good letters of recommendations from teachers. I know that it is getting more competitive to get in, in terms of grades, so the easiest thing to do is apply early.
